Rachel is a Toronto based writer, actor and comedian. She regularly performs stand up, improv and sketch in Toronto and around North America.
Rachel periodically tours across the country, opening for headliners like Jared Freid, Pinky Patel, Judah Freidlander, Sheba Mason and more. She has performed at JFL Vancouver, and competed in the SheDevil and Devil Cup Comedy Competitions in NYC where she came in the top 3. Previous to that, she performed at the Dallas Comedy Festival, the Milwaukee Comedy Festival, the San Diego Comedy Festival, Seattle Highlarious Comedy Festival, and many more. She will be co-headlining at JFL Toronto in September 2023.
Rachel writes features for TUBI, with Marvista and Neshama Entertainment. Her feature Dying For Admission will be released in 2023. Her original series Nerotica, was chosen as a MIPTV Official Selection for the Drama Pitch Category, Top 10 Selection of thee Stage32 Comedy Competition and for CBC Relief Funding. She is also currently pitching an original series, Trailblazers, with Incendo, and has worked in script development for Debbie Liebling (Pen15) and Sam Raimi.
Rachel is also a playwright, having received critical acclaim for her one act plays awarded Honourable Mention in the Saxton Playwrighting Competition. Her play 7 Minutes in Heaven was presented as part of the 10 minute play festival called the blackShow at the InspiraTO Festival, where it won Best Play of the festival, People’s Choice, and Best Performance by a Female Actor.
Rachel is also a copywriter, freelance writer, script writer and script supervisor. She completed the Web Series Incubator with Women On Screen out of VICE Toronto. She writes for NOW Toronto, Parton and Pearl Bellesa, Lady Spike as well as several production companies, including Loco Motion Pictures. You can catch Rachel’s podcast Tarts and Craft with fellow comedian Melanie Dahling on the Sonar Network. Her webseries, Comedians Getting High and Watching Hallmark Movies (or Highhallmark on socials) is premiering in the coming weeks, the trailer has already attracted almost 10,000 views in a few days.
As an actor, she has appeared in many commercials in Toronto and the U.S, including Visionworks, Interac, NerdWallet, the viral No Name campaign and Molson, as well as in What We Do In The Shadows Season 2 and WAYNE on Amazon Prime.
